Hi! I'm Jales

Environmental Engineer and Master in Geoprocessing and Environmental Analysis (UnB)

Throughout my career I have been involved in projects related to geotechnologies.

As a graduate student, I developed research projects where I applied satellite image processing techniques for data extraction and analysis of deforestation, change in land use and cover and calibration of hydraulic models with radar and altimetry data.

In my professional performance, whether in internships or consultancies, I worked mainly with spatial analysis, systematization of geographic data (vector, matrix and tabular) and cartographic production.

I am currently working on a master's degree in geoprocessing and environmental analysis at the University of Brasília (UnB). My dissertation will deal with the understanding of polarimetric indexes of vegetation through integration with multispectral data, from the perspective of time series.

In parallel, I study programming applied to several segments of geotechnologies such as satellite image processing, geospatial data science, process automation in QGIS / ArcGIS, machine learning and deep learning , using mainly the Python language .

In addition, I volunteer as moderator of Professor Gustavo Baptista's Fascinating World of Remote Sensing Community, participating in discussions and helping members take ownership of the practical issues of satellite image processing.

As a hobby, I like to play with friends, listen to music, cook and do some experiments with Arduino.
